I was thankful for today and dreading the appointment at the same time. Cass took a sick day so he could go and be with me and Bates at the doctor. I am so thankful that I have a husband that is willing to be there whenever needed! I was just a wreck about it all! His appointment was at 9:15 so we got up and headed straight there. I fixed Bates a big cup of Carnation Instant Breakfast and got him a Chick-fil-A chicken biscuit to fill him up before he got weighed! We got there and they called him right back. They weighed him and he was 19 lbs 9.5 oz. and I was excited because that was a really good weight for him and he was 30.3 inches long! YAY!!! I was super excited and thought we would not have to do the testing they wanted to do for him being so small!
The doctor came in and talked to us. He was happy he had grown in length and his head was still staying in the 50th percentile (that measurement has never been a problem) but he was not happy about his weight. He had dropped further down the chart than last time :( I showed him the spot on his neck and he was concerned about it. He said it was a very swollen lymph node and then proceeded to check for more. He pressed all over his body (while he SCREAMED) and ended up finding two more. One more on the right side of his neck and another on the left. He said he thought everything was probably ok but he wanted to run some tests on it and for his weight. He measured the large one and we have to go back every two weeks to have it remeasured to make sure it is going down in size. SO, we headed to children's hospital for bloodwork. Cass went in the back with him (it broke my heart when I had to take Caden at this age) and the boys and I could hear him screaming from where we were sitting. They took seven little things of blood from my sweet baby boy! That seems like a lot to me! They are checking for a lot of things concerning his eating and then for major things like leukemia, lymphoma, etc... for the lymph nodes. Scary to even have some of those tests run on your baby! The nurse was fantastic and got it first stick and she said he did great!!! SO glad that is behind him. We took him to krispy kreme for a donut treat after his test (and to try to fatten him up a little!)
Then we headed to the hair place to have Caden's hair cut. He needed one BAD and we had a coupon!
He did a great job sitting still and he looks so old now!
Then we headed over to Treetop Adventure where we had a Groupon for the boys to play and have fun! We started out bowling...
They have miniature bowling that is super fun!
Bates was saying, "oooohhh". He loved watching!
Caden's first time to bowl!
He looks so big!
Calder watching his ball!
He was having a blast!
Cass gave it a shot, too!
The Caden played a game where you had to crawl through a maze without hitting a laser! Caden made it across and back without hitting one!
Then, we headed to the go-karts!
We were the only ones there so the guy said we could ride as long as we wanted! These were fast and super fun! Cass and Caden look just alike to me here!
Making another lap!
Bates enjoyed watching...
and so did Calder!
Then it was time for me and Calder to go!
He didn't love how fast it went...but he had a great time anyway!
Caden and Bates watching!
Mommy and Calder!
Then we headed over to the inflatables!
Bates was NOT a fan of the slide but he did it a few times anyway!
Caden loves the big slides!
And so does Calder!
Daddy and Bates!
Bates even got in and decided to climb around!
Watching brothers!
Then we played arcade games, got a few prizes and headed to lunch!
We ate lunch at Jim N Nicks and it was yummy! Everyone enjoyed their lunch! Calder crashed as soon as we got in the car then we headed to Homewood to look around. He slept in the stroller the entire time! Amazing!
By the time we left Homewood it was 5:30 so we made a quick stop by Whole Foods (The boys LOVE to go in there) then headed back home. We had spaghetti for dinner when we got home then everyone went to sleep!
