Easter and Easter Egg Hunt 2011

We went to see the Easter Bunny at the mall and Calder was TERRIFIED of him and screamed the whole time!  It was pretty funny to me but he still went to get his coupon for a free cookie then ran off. Caden, however, LOVED sitting on his lap!  It was cute to watch him because I know not too much longer and he will not want to be visiting the Easter bunny!
After seeing the bunny, they went on a train ride.  The train only comes out at Christmas and Easter and it makes for two very happy little boys!  I can't wait until next year when Bates gets to ride!!!
We went to crank the car one morning and it wouldn't crank.  Of course we thought it was the battery so we jumped it off and that didn't work.  SO, we tried again and had our neighbor check it out.  We ended up having to join AAA, wait 48 hours then have it towed to honda.  Our starter needed to be replaced.  Thankful that we still had the vans to drive.  Then, Caden left the light on in the van one night and that battery really went dead...and had to be replaced.  So thankful that we still had the new (old) van to get us where we needed to go!
I tried a rib roast for our Easter dinner and it was delicious!  Publix puts them on sale a few times a year and I just rubbed a little olive oil on it and sprinkled it with kosher salt and pepper then cooked it in the oven and Cass decided it was one of his very favorite meals.  Didn't take a picture of it on a pretty platter but still thought I'd share.  If you haven't cooked one before, you should...it is YUMMY!!!
Each yera our church does a Preschool Family Picnic and Easter Egg Hunt. We usually provide the chicken fingers and dessert and everyone brings a side to share but this year we had families bring a picnic lunch and we provided drinks and cupcakes/cookies!  It was lots of fun watching the kids play on the playground, families having picnics and kids hunting eggs!  Can't wait for next year!

We usually have one at our house, too, but it didn't work out to do it this year.  SO, next year we will have to have a big one!  I love celebrating Easter...for the fun colors, eggs and treats but even more for the TRUE reason we celebrate!
Cupcakes from Sam's!  They have very tasty and inexpensive cupcakes (if you ever need any!)
I wanted a quick picture of the boys before we go busy hunting and this was the best we got!  Love these litle guys in their Easter outfits!

Bates very first Easter Egg Hunt!!!
The big boys were ready to go!

Then I tried to get a family picture....not the best but its all 5 of us!

Cass did a little Easter story with the kids and gave instructions for hunting!

Calder wasn't so sure what to do at first....he wanted Caden to hunt for him!
Cass helped him a little!

Then we let Caden get in and help!
After he figured out there was candy in the egg, he started opening them BEFORE He put them in the basket to make sure he liked what was inside!  SO funny!

Caden knew just what to do!  His hunting area went REALLY fast!

And, being the cheezy mom that I am, I made bunny shaped peanut butter and honey sandwiches for our picnic!

Miss Alexa sat with Calder to eat his treat!
Proud of his ring from his cupcake!
Eating his sucker!
We didn't want the Easter bunny to take away from the true meaning of Easter so "he" came while we were away at dinner!  We did a family dinner at The Cypress Inn the night before Easter and when the boys got in the car, I snuck the baskets out!  They had no idea!  IT was so fun to watch them find them when we got back home!
Caden's basket!
Calder's Basket!
Bates Basket
All 3 baskets!
Cheking everything out when we walked in the door!
Calder is always excited but a little nervous...he doesn't like the thought that someone is in our house :)
All the boys with their baskets before they dug in!
Caden was VERY excited!
Daddy and Bates just taking it all in!
Excited about his goggles!!!
Calder and his neck pillow for the car!
Shaving cream for the bath!
Tablets to change the color of the bath water!

Potato guns!  Anyone who knows me knows that I DO NOT LIKE GUNS OF ANYKIND!  I don't want to raise boys that like guns so I rarely purchase anything that resembles one! The Easter Bunny did, however, purchase potato guns for their baskets and they are super fun!  You get a little chunk of potato then watch it shoot through the air!  IT's lots of entertainment for these sweet boys!

I took his picture before church Sunday morning!  He is usually all smiles!  LOVE HIM!!!
Cass gave these cute peep gifts to all of his leadership!  Just a fun reminder that he is thankful for them!
And the boys (and their bananas) plaecd flowers on the cross!

Our little family in front of the cross!
The Edward's family was so kind to include us in their Easter lunch!  We had a great time visiting with friends and the boys had a blast playing with kids their ages!  We are thankful for their family!
It was Isaac's birthday and Caden was loving trying out Isaac's new bike!

Playing in the batting cage was a blast, too!

And, Dr. Edwards took them on a ride.  It looked and sounded like they ALL had fun!
After lunch, we headed to Atlanta because Cass was headed to The Orange Conference!  The boys were tired from being in the car but they did great!
Mimi and Poppy had baskets for each boy...and dinner was ready to eat!
