When we first got married, yard work was not something we knew anything about. Over the past several years we have been into planting flowers, trees, vegetables and trying to figure out how to grow things! We didn't do our front flower bed yet (we will do that Mother's Day weekend) but we did go out my birthday weekend and buy a red maple tree, a rose bush, two hydrangeas and some fruits and vegetables to grow! It was fun planting them together as a family and it will be fun to watch them grow over the years! While we were in Lowe's getting everything (which we usually get from The Plant Lady) Calder said, "Daddy, do you know what I'm tired of?" and Cass said, "What?" and he said, "being in Lowes ALL DAY LONG!". Too funny! We had been there about an hour but he's not going to be my shopping buddy :(

Caden helping plant the hydrangea!
Calder wanted to help, too! We are going to have LOTS of help!
our rose bush (which now has two roses on it that are BEAUTIFUL!!)
Romaine Lettuce
Romaine Lettuce, Strawberries and Tomatoes
Lettuce
Strawberries (which are already red and VERY sweet!)
hydrangea (We have three different kinds planted in the front in the same bed...should be really pretty when they bloom!)
Rose Bush in the back yard!
Can't wait to cut these and have them inside and take them to friends! SO pretty!
Our little family of 5! I LOVE it!
My parents came and told Calder they would take him to buy a new potty (we are trying everything to get him potty trained) and this is the one he chose! Glad he liked the cute one!

Calder trying out his new potty (and he didn't want to because he says he LOVES his diapers!)
Mimi and Poppy took the big boys to the Birmingham Zoo and got us another family pass and Cass took the day off to walk around all the fun, cute stores with Bates and me in Mountain Brook and Homewood! We had the best time, just the two of us, going in fun places and having lunch together! We ate at Sam's Super Sandwiches in Homewood and he bought me a cute little sundress at The Pink Tulip that I can't wait to wear when the white rule is in! Love days with just the two of us but they don't happen often! We met my parents and the boys at the Homewood Park after lunch (they ate at Saw's) and ended up on the news being interviewed about the new carseat regulations! We totally agree with keeping them backwards until 2 if that is what is safest! And, Caden was picking his nose the whole time he was on the news...great :)
Poppy with C and C at the train at the zoo!
seeing the new elephant exhibit!
Caden LOVES maps (in fact, I suggest NOT giving him one sometimes because it takes forever when he has one) but it's so fun to see how excited he gets about everything when he has one! I'm sure he was the little tour guide at the zoo!
